DESCRIPTION:Join the Council for Quality Growth's South Metro Advisory Committee Meeting with Kimley-Horn Urban Designer and Planner\, Eric Bosman.\n\n\n\nThe September South Metro Advisory will include an overview of the Fulton County Transit Master Plan process and findings to date. Council Member attendance and participation is highly encouraged.\n\n \n\nFollowing last year's -cent TSPLOST referendum in Fulton County\, the Mayors of the 14 Cities outside of Atlanta and the Fulton County Commission affirmed that a plan was needed to determine potential expansion of transit services in Fulton County. Eric Bosman of Kimley-Horn is leading the Fulton County Transit Master Plan effort to build from each City's community and economic development strategies\, analyze existing transit services and needs\, and develop a financial model to determine the potential for expanding transit services within Fulton County.\n\n \n\nThe Fulton County Transit Master Plan will result in a framework that Fulton County and its municipalities will use to guide transit conversations and investments for decades to come. The plan will establish:\n\n \n\n A collective vision for future transit expansion and services within Fulton County\n A project list for discussion with regional service providers and state partners\n A financial plan that identifies funding for envisioned investments\n\n \n\nAbout Eric Bosman:\n\nEric S. Bosman\, AICP is an urban designer\, specializing in urban\, community\, campus\, and strategic facility planning with Kimley-Horn in Atlanta\, GA. Over the last two decades\, he has assisted municipalities\, community improvement districts (CIDs)\, educational systems\, and other organizations as a facilitator\, planner\, designer\, and program manager.\n\n \n\nEric's career has spanned leadership roles in a regional architecture firm\; a boutique urban design firm\; and a national planning\, landscape architecture\, and engineering firm. His experience has included the planning and design of educational\, office\, healthcare facilities\, and campuses throughout the Southeast\, Texas\, and Mexico\; implementing a $50-million streetscape and open space program that transformed Midtown Atlanta into one of the Southeast's most urban walkable districts\; and leading the revitalization of numerous Southeastern communities from auto-oriented environments into walkable urban places. As a sought-after leader of interdisciplinary planning\, design\, and implementation efforts\, he combines strategies and tools from planning\, landscape architecture\, and architecture to create stronger communities and great places.\n\n\n\nEric is Past-President of the Georgia Chapter of the American Planning Association and is a board member of the Georgia Planning Memorial Foundation.
