Join the Council for Quality Growth's Virtual South Metro Advisory Committee Meeting on April 21 featuring Patrick Ejike, Community Development Department Director of Clayton County. 

Patrick Ejike serves as Clayton County Community Development Department Director. His responsibilities include implementation of the County’s vision as prescribed in the respective codes/ordinances that govern the excise of his duties to ensure public welfare and safety.
Patrick Ejike has over thirty-two (32) years of experience in local government in the areas of Tax Mapping, Geographic Information System (GIS), Urban & Regional planning, Building Permit, Building Inspections, Business License, Alcohol License, Code Enforcement, Geographic Information System and Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He is a champion of process improvement and over the years has been instrumental in implementing technology that improved efficiency and accountability.
Prior to becoming Clayton County Community Development Director, he held positions in DeKalb County Government as Planning and Development Director, Associate Director, Development Department, Assistant Director, Human & Community Development Department, Planning Manager, Planning Department, and GIS Manager for Fulton County. In senior management levels in government Mr. Ejike has worked on process improvements initiatives to streamlines services and make zoning, business license and building permits more efficient and productive processes. He has managed the update and rewrite of a number of County Codes and Ordinances.
Director Ejike attained his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and his Master of Urban and Regional Planning Degree from the University of New Orleans, New Orleans Louisiana.

Clayton County Community Development Department is responsible for a wide range of activities that result in improving the life of all Clayton County residents and business communities. Organizationally, Community Development Department has eight (8) divisions; Administration, Planning & Zoning,
Business & Alcohol License, Building Permit (structural, mechanical, electrical plumbing, plans review), Commercial Code Enforcement, Inspections, Geographic Information System and Housing and Urban Development. These departmental divisions collectively shape our built environment addressing the many aspects of land-use, zoning, land development, building construction and code enforcement.
