DeMont Davis is serving his first term as a member of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners representing the citizens of District 4.
Mr. Davis is a local business owner of a Technology Enterprise Consulting firm which focuses on delivering academic solutions, as well as, strategic development and technical training. He has over 30 years of software development and business consulting experience. Working at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) as the Director of Oracle Customizations with Essentus’ Professional Services division, he successfully provided invaluable product and services in areas of application development, object oriented programming, strategic planning, database development, and big data concepts to various Fortune 100 companies such as Delta Airlines, MCI, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United States Army, Sketchers, Coca Cola and IBM, to name a few.
DeMont’s passion is advancing our youth through education. He understands the need for our young people have access to state-of-the-art and the great impacts and benefits it can lend to academia and to the future of students. This aspiration led him to author the book, STAR Technology Enterprise Planning Solution (STEPS) in which Mr. Davis defines the effective methodology of developing and implementing an education balanced scoreboard to be used in the school systems. He also served as an Adjunct Professor teaching Database Development, C/C++, Access and Security Controls, Risk Mitigation, and Project Management.
Mr. Davis believes, “If you put people first in your work efforts, change is always positive and meaningful”. He has also worked with young people in many different areas such as, starting the Sabbath Keepers Youth League (SKYL), mentoring in life development skills at youth detention centers (YDC’s), leading the development of technology programs for youth organizations, and being a CASA Volunteer.
DeMont is a man who loves his family. He is married to Dr. Laura Davis, a graduate of Oakwood University and Howard University, and has four (4) children, Laura Jones (graduate of Prairie View A&M), DeMont Davis Jr. (graduate of Oakwood University and attending Meharry Medical School), Lauren Davis (matriculating at Oakwood University), and Ricky Davis (Oakwood University or PV bound).
Mr. Davis is a product of the Pasadena, California school system. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Clark Atlanta University.
