Alice Wakefield serves as the Director for the City of Roswell Community Development Department, overseeing the day-to-day operations of planning and zoning services, engineering and site development, building and permitting, code enforcement, business registration and GIS divisions. Prior to that position,  she served as the Community Development Director for the City of Milton, the Planning Director for the City of Atlanta and the Deputy Director of Planning for Fulton County. She has also worked in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. She has a career that spans over 40 years. Ms. Wakefield has gained considerable experience over the years managing land use and development processes  including comprehensive planning, current planning, economic development, historic preservation, and development services. Ms. Wakefield has a Bachelor degree in History and Political Science from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee and a Master degree in City and Regional Planning from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green Kentucky.
