Join the Council For Quality Growth's North Fulton Advisory Meeting featuring Al Nash and Samir Abdullahi with the Fulton County Development Authority. 

Al Nash is currently the CEO of the Development Authority of Fulton County and Select Fulton.

Mr. Nash was associated with Parallax Advisory Group, LLC, a consulting group concentrating on economic development, government affairs, permitting, public policy and procurement. Mr. Nash served as Executive Director of Progress Partners of North Atlanta, the economic development initiative.   Mr. Nash was the Founder and a Partner in The Columns Group, Inc., an Atlanta based Real Estate Development Company.  Nash also previously held positions with Eagle Real Estate Advisors as Executive Vice President, at Chatham Properties where he served as Executive Vice President of it holding company, and at Arvida Corporation as President of Arvida of Georgia.

Nash is a native of Atlanta, has over 35 years of business experience, and has demonstrated his commitment to the community by serving as a leader of some of the Region’s and the State of Georgia’s most influential business and civic organizations.

Nash is the past chairman of The Council for Quality Growth, a 30 year old not-for-profit trade association comprised of a diverse membership.  The council works to ensure continued growth and economic success for the Region and the State of Georgia.  He also served as Chairman of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce in 2008.  Nash served as Chairman of the Regional Business Coalition, an organization comprised of 16 Metro Atlanta Chambers of Commerce.  He currently serves on the Board of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, he also has served as a Board member of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, where he served as chairman of the Human Rural Service Transportation Committee; and also served on the Governor’s Water Contingency Task Force, which was charged with looking at solutions to the State of Georgia’s water problems.  Mr. Nash currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Kings Ridge Christian School and has recently retired from the Broad of Trustees for Gwinnett Technical College.

Nash holds a B.S. Degree in Land Development and Urban Affairs from Georgia State University.  He and his wife Judy live in Roswell, Georgia and have two grown children.  Nash is a dedicated resident and corporate citizen of North Fulton, metropolitan Atlanta and Georgia.

Samir Abdullahi is the Deputy Director for Select Fulton, Fulton County’s economic development initiative. In this role, Samir manages both the economic development projects team in addition to the Workforce Development division of Fulton County. His roles include recruiting new jobs and capital investment to the county, preparing incentive packages and directing Fulton County’s $3.2M Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funding.

He was the Economic Development Manager of the City of Alpharetta where he helped to brand the city as technology hub and led the recruitment of large global and regional headquarter relocations like Fiserv Solutions and Halyard Health. He also previously worked for Partnership Gwinnett, Gwinnett County’s public-private economic development initiative. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Samir holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations. He also holds a master’s in Public Policy from Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies where he frequently lectures on Economic Development policy.
