Todd I. Long, P.E., P.T.O.E.
Todd Long was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Fulton County and began serving October 1, 2015. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Fulton County’s citizen-facing departments. Long is ultimately responsible for citizen satisfaction with services and improving efficiency in operations.
Todd Long was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Georgia Department of Transportation and began serving in that capacity on April 16, 2012. In 2009 Long was appointed by then Governor Perdue to serve as Director of Planning, the result of legislation passed by the Georgia General Assembly that authorizes the Governor to appoint the planning director, who operates within the GDOT organization. In 2011 Long was reappointed by Governor Deal and confirmed by the General Assembly to continue serving in that role. Long was also responsible for coordinating the efforts for implementing the Transportation Investment Act (TIA) passed during the 2010 General Assembly.
Long, a native of Hinesville, Georgia, is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), and has served as president of the Georgia Section ITE. He currently serves as Sec/Treasurer for the Southern District ITE. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a registered Professional Engineer and a registered Professional Traffic Operations Engineer.
