Join the Council's Henry County Advisory Committee with Locust Grove City Manager Tim Young.
Tim Young has been the City Manager of Locust Grove since 2012, managing Public Safety, Public Works, and City Hall. As City Manager, he develops and maintains a budget of over $10M annually in combined general fund, enterprise funds, and special purpose tax dollars for annual operations and capital improvements. Projects that he has been involved in include overseeing the development of a new Public Safety building, nearly $1M in water and sewer infrastructure improvements, and over $2M in new transportation projects within the city.
Tim also coordinates with three other cities and Henry County on joint activities such as the Comprehensive Transportation Plan, SPLOST, Local Option Sales Tax distribution, and a new proposed interchange on I-75 in the Industrial Corridor between McDonough and Locust Grove.
Prior to his role as City Manager of Locust Grove, Tim Young was Locust Grove’s Director of Community Development, and a Senior Planner for Columbia County. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and completed coursework in the University of Tennessee School of Planning with concentrations in land use, transportation, and economic development.
