Tom Brown is currently the Director for the Forsyth County Department of Planning and Community Development, having served as the Assistant Director since May 2003. Tom began working as a planner with the county in 1998 and was promoted to senior planner in late 2001. Prior to coming to Forsyth County, Tom held a temporary position as a strategic planner with the Empire State Development Corporation in Buffalo, New York. He has a Master of Urban Planning from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and Urban Studies from Canisius College. Tom has been certified with the American Institute of Certified Planners since 2000.
