She serves as the chair of the Social Services Committee, as chair of the Transportation Committee, and as a member of the Finance Committee. She also serves as chair for the General County Government Policy Committee of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG). In 2013, Jones Mills graduated from the Georgia Academy for Economic Development and in 2014 completed the Commissioners Training Program through ACCG. Commissioner Jones Mills was recognized in 2015 for her active membership on the ACCG Policy Council and was named the group’s 2015 Legislative Advocate of the Year.

Since becoming a commissioner, Jones Mills worked to create the Forsyth County Drug Summit and Forsyth County Drug Awareness Council, of which she currently serves as chair. She also worked with the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Transportation to launch the Transportation Summit.

A lifelong resident of Forsyth County, she graduated from Forsyth County High School and attended North Georgia College.

Commissioner Jones Mills has been a member of the business community for many years. She served as the general manager of Lanierland Music Park for 10 years and is currently president of CMC Trucking Company, a local agricultural transportation agency.

Commissioner Jones Mills served on the county’s Parks and Recreation Board for 11 years and received a State Volunteer Award from the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association in 2011. She coached recreational teams for over 20 years. Commissioner Jones Mills’ involvement in the education community includes participation in the local school council programs at Coal Mountain Elementary, North Forsyth Middle and North Forsyth High schools. In 1999, she was a proud recipient of the Mentor of the Year award from the Forsyth County School System. Cindy has enjoyed participating in the ‘Principal for a Day’ program through Forsyth County Schools and the Chamber of Commerce. It was through that participation that she saw a great need to provide technology for economically disadvantaged children. In 2015, Jones Mills was the recipient of the Don Hendricks Partnership Award from the Forsyth County Board of Education – the highest honor a partner in education can receive.
