More about Matthew Thomas:

Matthew A. Thomas is a native of Dalton, GA. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of West Georgia. While in college and immediately after graduating, he interned at the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, the Dalton-Whitfield Joint Development Authority, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber. These experiences in improving communities and fostering development opportunities prepared him for his vocation today as Economic Development Manager for the City of Canton.

Matthew is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Cherokee and, in 2015, was named among Cherokee County's "Top 10 in 10" Young Professionals to Watch.
Most recently, he served as President of the Rotary Club of Canton. Inaugurated at 26 years old, he stands as the youngest and first African-American President to ever serve in the Club's rich 80-year history. He currently serves as Chair of the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce’s Teen Leadership Program and serves on the Advisory Committee of the Falany Performing Arts Center at Reinhardt University.

Last, but not least, Matthew is an avid pianist and music producer. At the moment, he is working on his very first solo jazz album. He attends Community Fellowship Church in Dalton where he serves as Minister of Music.
